Avode has successfully delivered a comprehensive calculation package relating to a client's pump baseplate design. Our scope included identifying the Centre of Gravity location, advising on lift point position and conducting detailed FE Analysis studies to assess the structure's suitability for lifting with pipes full of fluid. Six-vector allowable external nozzle loadings also had to be determined for each piping interface while at full working pressure. Early visibility of analysis results allowed construction to commence ahead of schedule, and the detailed analysis report that followed was delivered to the project team for review.

Avode has updated the specification of their engineering software suite, primarily to add integrated revision control and centralised Vault-based file management to our existing SolidWorks 3D CAD package. This will improve our efficiency when managing, reviewing and issuing large numbers of drawings and CAD files.

Ansys Workbench Professional NLS (Non-Linear, Structural) has also been locked in as a permanent resource for Avode's engineering team, which allows us to tackle non-linear contact, buckling and large deformation style problems with bilinear material models. What does that mean? Ask us!
